- Drop off by car :
In order to meet the required number of instructional minutes during the school year, school will start at 8:30 am. Students will be considered tardy at 8:35. We are also required to take attendance as soon as possible to ensure that all students arrived at school safely. Please drop off at the respective zones for Secondary and Junior School and move off quickly so as to avoid cars being held up in long queues.
- Pick up by car:
Releasing of students commences at 3:30-3:45 pm or after the ECA’s. All students scheduled to be picked up will be ushered to the front of the building where staff will adequately supervise students. In the beginning pick up will take a little bit longer, but as the year progresses, it gets much easier. This year, we were able to dismiss students in as little as 12 minutes! Important, unless it is an emergency, if you change dismissal plans for your child, we need to know before 2:30 pm on the day of the change.
You can call us at +603 5033 8000 or write us a note. We can’t dismiss students to other adults or allow students to walk home without written permission from the parents or guardians.
Also, it helps tremendously to have accurate and current information, particularly phone numbers, address, and who is or isn’t allowed to pick up the student. Please make sure to call our Admissions / Registrar with any needed updates
- Class and House lists:
Creating balanced classes each year is a collaborative process that the Peninsula teachers and staff begin working on during the last quarter and continue refining in December.Teachers and staff consider academic strengths and needs, gender, social-emotional concerns, and peer dynamics as they work to create balanced classes and Houses. Students are placed in age appropriate classes according to the VCE curriculum guidelines.
- Parent & Student Handbook
The Peninsula Parent Handbook has been posted on the school website. www.peninsula.edu.my Junior School, Middle School and Secondary 2019 handbooks will be available from admissions and are available for all parents in January 2019.
The Oracle is our School Learning App that can be downloaded from the web so that parents can have an instant guide and access to their own child’s learning and other relevant class and school information. The App is constantly being updated and details on how to download and login will be sent out prior to the new academic year starting in 2019.
- Book lists
Booklist 2019 have been processed.
- Parking / drop off / pick up
We encourage families, volunteers, and visitors to use the parking lots on right hand of the school drop off zone if you need to visit the administrative building. Otherwise we do ask that drive slowly when dropping off and picking up and observe the security guards instructions for safety reasons. Drop off zones are marked for both Secondary and Junior school
- ECA Programme
ECA’s have commenced and a full list of activities has been posted on the school website.
Without exception, all parents, volunteers, and visitors need to check in at front gate and sign–in and collect a visitors sticker. Parents with school car stickers can drive into the school but will be monitored by the security guards. It is everyone’s responsibility to keep our students safe while at our school.
- Cell Phones
Please remind students that cell phones in school are for emergency use only and need to be kept in their bags or lockers and turned off. We encourage parents to help us by not sending the students to school with expensive phones. The school is unable to take responsibility for items damaged or stolen. Other Electronics like iPods and Nintendo are not allowed in school.
Students from years 7-12 are allowed to bring their own laptop to school and it is actively encouraged that they bring one. As a whole school we are moving towards being an Apple Distinguished School and we do encourage students to obtain or have access to an Apple Laptop, However, a Windows Laptop can still be used for the foreseeable future until such time as we become an Apple Distinguished School which would mean that the school would be using Apple Apps and EducationalSoftware.
Please go to www.peninsula.edu.my and click on buy an Apple Laptop for more details on purchasing an Apple Laptop.
