As part of our strong and ongoing commitment to 21st century teaching and learning excellence, Peninsula International School has embarked on the journey to become an Apple Distinguished School.
Last term, parents of students from year 7 onwards were informed about the Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) programme which we would like to have had implemented for the start of the 2019 Academic Year. This programme involves students bringing their own, but school-approved, device to school for the purpose of learning. The school will provide the ability to connect compatible devices to a filtered internet service.
Under our BYOD model, students and teachers are permitted to bring any laptop device that needs only to have wifi connection capabilities. We would strongly encourage that parents purchase Apple Laptops as this would meet the future minimum standards that the school will be implementing and allow access to Apple Educational Programmes which the school will be using as we continue to progress towards becoming an Apple Distinguished School.
However, we also understand that this will take time and will be phased in over a period of Semesters running into 2020. Therefore, students can still bring in a Windows based machine and enjoy full access in the short term.
Should you wish to change to or purchase a new Apple laptop, we have teamed up with MacCity to offer you a range of purchasing options and Apple Laptops which may be considered.
